Presentation given at the SEI’s Software Engineering Process Group Conference, New Orleans, March, 2001
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) released a new version of its widely used ISO 9000 series of standards in late 2000. The new ISO 9001:2000 incorporates substantial changes from the ISO 9001:1994 which require organizations to review their current quality systems. This presenation will investigate the impact of the new version on software organizations, and focus on the integration of CMM-based improvement programs and ISO 9001:2000 verification studies.
The audience will have a chance to review the new structure, the new requirements, and learn about how CMM activities map to these requirements.
