Abstract
Software organizations are trying to accommodate the recent changes in the ISO
9001:2000 as well as the new structure and expectations of the CMMI model. In
this presentation we will focus on issues regarding to ISO 9001:2000 and on
moving from ISO 9001:2000 compliant model to CMMI Level 3 capability. We will
discuss how to implement ISO 9001:2000 requirements in a small software organization,
and some of the decisions we made for building an efficient quality management
system. We then provide a roadmap for CMMI Level 3 capability and discuss the
issues related to moving from ISO world to the CMMI structure. The discussion
will summarize our company’s improvement efforts which started in June
2000. Our quality management system received ISO 9001:2000 certification in
June 2001, and now moving towards CMMI Level 3. We strongly believe that our
experience will provide success example especially to small software organizations.
